Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy

The SEN Agency, Love Teachers Ltd believes everyone should be treated fairly and with respect. We welcome people of all backgrounds and we expect the same from the schools we work with.

Our commitment

We will not discriminate, directly or indirectly, or harass or victimise anyone because of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation. These are the protected characteristics in the Equality Act 2010. We also welcome applicants who have a criminal record, unless it is relevant to the role and the law requires us to consider it.

How this applies

- Candidates: we recruit, register, offer work to and support candidates solely on their skills, experience, suitability and right to work, and the requirements of the role.

- Schools: we ask schools to give us clear, lawful job requirements. We will not act on instructions that would discriminate unlawfully, and we will say so.

- Our own staff: we apply the same principles to recruitment, pay, training and treatment of our team.

Reasonable adjustments

We will make reasonable adjustments for disabled candidates and staff, and will talk to them about what would help at interview, during registration and in placement.

Safeguarding comes first

Safeguarding checks apply to everyone equally. Where a role is lawfully limited, for example by a genuine occupational requirement, we will explain why.

Diversity and inclusion

We believe diverse school workforces help every child. We encourage applications from under-represented groups and we monitor our data, in line with data protection law, to help us improve.

Raising a concern

If you feel you have been treated unfairly, tell us. Contact a Director on +44 (0)20 8798 3099 or office@thesenagency.co.uk, or use our Complaints Procedure. We will take every concern seriously. Nobody will be treated badly for raising one in good faith.

Responsibility and review

The Directors are responsible for this policy. We review it every year.
